B.S. in Manufacturing Engineering Technology
Overview
The Manufacturing Engineering Technology degree prepares students to apply engineering principles, advanced manufacturing technologies and data-driven decision-making to the design, operation and continuous improvement of modern manufacturing systems. The program combines hands-on technical experience with applied engineering knowledge, preparing graduates to integrate people, processes, equipment and digital technologies to improve productivity, quality and sustainability in manufacturing environments.
Students gain experience in advanced manufacturing processes, computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM), computer numerical control (CNC) machining, automation and robotics, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), industrial networking, sensors and controls, additive manufacturing, metrology, quality systems, lean manufacturing and production planning. Coursework also emphasizes Industry 4.0 technologies, including the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), smart manufacturing, data analytics, digital manufacturing and systems integration.
Students learn to collect and analyze production data, implement automated solutions, optimize manufacturing performance and support continuous improvement initiatives using modern engineering tools and technologies.
