BAAS in Communication Studies

Overview

The Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (BAAS) degree in Communication Studies is offered as an online program that also offers limited classes on the Fort Worth campus. This is a general communication program that includes courses such as Interpersonal Communication, Organizational Communication, and Mass Communication. There are numerous elective offerings for classes in social media and new communication technologies like AI.

Students can earn up to 33 hours in prior learning credit. Credit may be accepted from a variety of professional areas, including: military coursework or trainings, professional certificates or licensures in public relations, social media or event management, communication-related continuing education (CE) credits, or any vocational-technical training or workforce education course manual (WECM) courses in hospitality or travel areas.
