Overview

This degree is intended to serve as a bridge program from an Associate’s to Bachelor’s degree. The Health Professions Technology (HPT) program is designed for certified/licensed allied health practitioners who have earned an Associate’s degree and who desire/require further education for professional development or personal satisfaction. This degree program will give graduates of our Histotechnology and Medical Laboratory Technology programs the opportunity to earn their bachelor’s degree by applying credit from their Workforce Education (WECM) courses.

Program Benefits

The Bachelor of Applied Technology has four course areas, which are designed to meet the requirements set forth by the State Legislature regarding bachelor’s degree programs; these still offer some flexibility in the student’s choice of elective courses. Most students entering the Health Professions Technology program will only need to complete the 45 upper-level credit hours from the require major courses and electives.

Courses

A student will work with their program director to establish a coursework outline that supports their professional goals. A minimum of 18 semester hours may be selected from the prescribed electives to complete one of the four areas of the degree program. View the full list of electives you can choose from.
