Overview
The Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Communication combines knowledge and skills from agriculture and communication studies to prepare students to advocate and communicate for farmers, ranchers, and professionals from all aspects of the agricultural industry. Students build a solid foundation in all areas of agriculture from animal science and plant science to agribusiness and agricultural mechanics combined with the verbal, written and technical skills to be successful in their chosen career. Students work with our award-winning faculty using state-of-the-art equipment to complete courses in writing, editing, photography, graphic design, publication, public relations and event planning, broadcasting, and digital media creation....

Our degree successfully blends agriculture and communication studies to prepare students for unlimited possibilities. All students complete a 10-week capstone internship experience during their final semester providing them with hands-on, real-world experience to prepare them for success upon graduation.

The WhisperRoom is a portable sound isolation booth used for broadcasting, video editing, voice-over recordings, and podcasting. It is equipped with a video/audio workspace that includes dual computer monitors, a broadcast microphone, studio reference speakers, and a radio mixing console. This new addition is used in many Agricultural Communication classes!
The Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow (ACT) is an organization dedicated to student development within the field of agricultural communication through professional growth opportunities and educational program. The mission of ACT is to build relationships among agricultural communication professionals and college students and faculty, to provide professional and academic development for members and to promote agriculture through communications efforts.
Learning Outcomes
The Agricultural Communication program provides you with the opportunity to participate in real-world, hands-on activities and events across all aspects of the agricultural industry. Students will also develop skills through Applied Learning Experiences aligned with courses in the curriculum.
