Career Outcomes

Earning a Master of Science in Nursing opens up career opportunities to pursue leadership roles, become a nurse educator, and even pursue a future doctorate in nursing.

The Nursing Administration program prepares MSN graduates to assume leadership roles in healthcare organizations. Specifically, our two concentrations offer students the knowledge, skills and abilities to be leaders in the key areas of:

Nursing Management – Using the American Organization for Nursing LeadershipTM (AONL) overarching competencies for nursing leadership, the program’s faculty is committed to developing future nurse leaders in a variety of care settings and levels of responsibilities.

Quality Management – For nurses interested in healthcare roles that drive quality to improve healthcare outcomes, our program incorporates the National Association for Healthcare Quality’s (AHRQ®) Healthcare Quality Competency FrameworkTM as a way for nurses to prepare to meet the demands of industry standards for workforce competencies in Quality.

The Nursing Education program offers graduates an opportunity to learn about and experience the roles of both academic and clinical nurse educators. Aligned with the National League for Nursing’s (NLN) competencies for nursing educators, we are preparing our graduates to meet the demands for the essential role of preparing the next generation of nurses.
